Nigel Wesson has been a constant singer and performer since he started his residency in 1966 at Bunjies folk cellar at 27 Litchfield Street, in the heart of London’s Soho. In the years through to 1975 Nigel completed over 400 Saturday evening performances at a time when Bunjies was a famous venue on London’s folk scene. The full list of ‘drop in guests’ name checks many of the folk greats of that era -amongst Nigel’s floor singers were John Martyn, Roy Harper, Al Stewart and Donovan. Bryan’s first song-writing success was in 1968 with Kim Clark when one of his songs ‘Granny Takes a Trip’ was played on the BBC. Later, two of the songs ‘Museum’ and ‘Roundabout’, were recommended to Island Music by Muff Winwood ( later to become head of Sony Music) . Versions of these songs are now included on this new album. Bryan also recorded with the renowned folk music producer Bill Leader of Topic Records and pop recordings with Pye Records and Radio Luxembourg in the 1970s.
